Barrie Greenhalgh

Dr Barrie Greenhalgh is a Radiometric and Nuclear Physicist with over 20 years’ experience of working in the nuclear industry. He is a MCNP radiation transport specialist, with experience in support of radiometric characterisation, calibration, feasibility and design studies. Until recently, he delivered technical characterisation tasks for a range of Sellafield Ltd customers, including POCO, remediation and plant support operations. At Sellafield, Barrie was the lead physicist for the Radiometric Systems Group for the use of MCNP, and has performed an Intelligent Customer role for contractor supplied specialist services.

Barrie has proven project management ability across a complex range of work packages, and has delivered projects through the full lifecycle from specification to delivery in radiometric characterisation. He is also highly skilled in the field of Nuclear Material/Non-Destructive Assay (NMA/NDA), and has worked with ionising radiation detectors for over 25 years. As well as bring a key member of our Nuclear Characterisation team, Barrie will be supporting the Criticality Safety team at Cerberus Nuclear.
